DEALING WITH ANXIETY || MENTAL HEALTH TALKS

 Hello everyone!

Welcome or welcome back to 15's Fantasy!

Firstly, I wholeheartedly thank everyone who asked me about not posting anything last week and yesterday.

I got a little busy with some other work [ ahem ahem ๐Ÿ˜†] but here I am today with a new post!!!! 

As many of you might know, anxiety is something that people go through, especially during this pandemic. About 8% of teens aging 13 to 18 have anxiety. So today I am going to share with you all what I know about anxiety.

So let us begin!


= WHAT IS ANXIETY?

Let us start from the definition of the term 'Anxiety'. Anxiety is defined as a feeling of fear or apprehension about what's to come. It is your body's natural response to stress. Often, anxiety involves repeated episodes of sudden feelings of intense anxiety and fear or terror that reach a peak within minutes, panic attacks.

= IS ANXIETY A DISEASE?

When someone tells you that they have anxiety we often don't pay much attention to it. We might think that it is no big deal but anxiety is real. They can lead to serious medical conditions. Experiencing occasional anxiety is very normal. We might face this before giving a public speech or before writing an exam etc but if you experience it very often and if you realize that you cannot handle this by yourself, do take help!


= WHAT CAUSES ANXIETY?

There needn't be a specific cause for anxiety but there are factors like mental trauma, work pressure, drugs, alcohol, peer pressure etc that may pave a way for anxiety.


= WHAT CAN BE DONE IN ORDER TO REDUCE ANXIETY?

Some of the ways in which you can help yourself if you have anxiety or tell someone and help them are: 

  • Involving in some activity
  • Getting good sleep
  • Eating healthy
  • Doing some sort of exercise
  • Keeping a journal
  • Tracking your mood
  • Meditation

Do not make fun of someone else's feelings. Quoting Dhar Mann " It's hard to understand if you haven't been through it".
