SAY NO TO DOWRY.

Today I am going to share with you all my views on Dowry. 

When I searched for the meaning of the word dowry, this is what I got.

Dowry is a transfer of parental property, gifts, property or money upon the marriage of a daughter.

It is basically the money, gold, property, vehicles etc which is given by the bride's family to the groom's family upon their marriage. 

Considering the fact that Dowry is illegal in India, it is pathetic that even in the 21st century people give and demand dowry. Some people use words like wedding gift for the same which makes it no different.

Dear parents, If you have a daughter please do realize that she is no commodity to be sold. If the groom's side demands for dowry please do back out of that toxic relationship, she definitely deserves better. 

To all the beautiful girls out there..Study hard, get a job and become independant.

It is high time that we raise our voices against this very toxic system.

RIP my dear sisters..Vismaya, Archana and Suchitra 🙏 Hope you have found peace wherever you are.
